Balenciaga Vintage 1950's Poured Glass Faux Pearl Necklace.  Early rare and collectible museum quality vintage necklace by Robert Goossens for Balenciaga. Also known as 'Monsieur Bijoux,' Robert Goossens' career in haute couture jewelry began in 1948.  He spent twenty-seven years with Yves Saint Laurent, his creations remain inseparable from the history of Chanel, and created some special jewelry designs for Balenciaga between 1955-68.  This mid-century necklace is made of wired faux pearls, clear prong-set rhinestones, and domed blue poured glass cabochons on a silvertone metal backing.  Fastens with hook closure and measures 14" plus an additional 1.5" extender.  Excellent vintage pre-owned condition with small fracture in blue glass as pictured in detail in photo 7.  Some wear to silvertone metal from use and and coating of some small pearls.  Does not detract when worn but we mention for collectors.
